Today Hub.

Today Hub is designed to keep your information on your device. This policy explains, in plain terms, what the app accesses, what it sends, and what it doesn't do.

The short version

Today Hub reads your calendar, reminders, and meal plan directly on your iPhone to show them back to you. That information never leaves your device and is never sent to us — we don't operate a server that receives it. Your habits and the days you log, including anything you write in a day's note, are backed up to your own private iCloud account, which we cannot read. The only data that leaves your phone and reaches a third party is your approximate location, sent to a weather provider to fetch your local forecast. We have no account system, run no analytics, show no ads, and sell nothing.

What the app accesses on your device

Opening other apps

Some rows in Today Hub hand off to the app that owns the thing you tapped: an event opens Apple Calendar, a reminder opens Apple Reminders, and — if you turn it on in Settings — a meal opens the recipe app you chose. These handoffs pass only what iOS needs to open that app to the right place. Nothing about you is sent to us, and no third-party code runs inside Today Hub.

The meal setting lists a small, fixed set of recipe apps and shows whether each is installed. That check is made by iOS on your device against a list declared in the app, and the answer stays on your device.

Habits, logged days, and iCloud

So your habits and logged days survive a new phone or a reinstall, they are synced through your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit. This is the same mechanism Apple's own apps use, and the important detail is who can see it: the data lives in your personal iCloud account, governed by Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to it, no ability to read it, and no copy of it. There is no Tempered Studio server involved at any point.

Habit completion history is kept to a rolling 365-day window; older entries are discarded automatically. If you sign out of iCloud or turn off iCloud for Today Hub in iOS Settings, the app keeps working and stores habits and logged days only on your device.

To support this sync, the app receives silent background notifications from Apple telling it that your iCloud data changed. These carry no content of their own and are not marketing messages.

What leaves your device

To show weather, the app sends your approximate latitude and longitude to:

The Today Hub widget makes these same weather requests independently, so it can stay current while the app is closed.

These requests contain only coarse location coordinates. They do not include your name, your device identifier, your calendar, your reminders, your habits, your logged days, or your meals. The coordinates are used to return a forecast and are not linked to your identity by the app. Please refer to each provider's own privacy terms for how they handle incoming requests.

Purchases

Today Hub offers an optional one-time purchase, Today Hub Premium, which unlocks your full history in Look Back, unlimited habits, the additional color themes, and the alternate app icons. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details, card number, or billing address — the app only ever learns whether an unlock is active on your Apple Account.

What we don't do

Data retention and deletion

Because your calendar, reminders, meals, habits, and logged days are never collected by us, there is nothing on our side to retain or delete. App settings, habits and logged days stored on your device are removed when you delete the app. Anything already backed up to iCloud is removed by turning off iCloud for Today Hub, or by deleting the app's data in iOS Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage. Your underlying calendar and reminder data is managed by iOS and is unaffected by removing this app.

Children

Today Hub is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
